Important Dates/Reminders * HAVE A GREAT HOLIDAY SEASON!!!* Reading / Writing Shared Reading: we will continue using big books to learn our concepts of print. Reader’s Workshop: Students will learn how to reread books they know well. They will begin to read with expression and retell stories orally. Fundations: This month we will be learning the letters l,h,k,q,v,w,x,y, and z. Read Aloud: This month’s skill is questioning, and author’s purpose. Writing: we are writing like scientists, while we listen and observe the world around us. Science/SS/Health Science: we will be continue investigating leaves and trees through the seasons. Social Studies: the focus for December is understanding and recognizing character traits. Health: we are discussing the proper use of medicine and different kinds of families. Math In the Everyday Math Program (EDM), students will engage in activities working with attribute blocks, finding shapes by feel, graphing favorite colors, working with the calculator, completing ten frames, and counting/recognizing teen numbers with the Monster Squeeze game.
