Capacity building GISC Beijing provided on-site training to AoR of GISC Beijing and neighbouring NMHMs, including the guidance for WIS implementation and/or application of subscription data on weather forecast. 12th-20th FEB 2014, to Tajikistan 21th-26th APR 2014, to Pakistan 212h-26th Dec 2014, to Nepal 22th-26th Jan 2015, to North Korea 27th-31th Jan 2015, to Myanmar

GISC Backup GISC Beijing and Tokyo exchanged their routing catalogs and analyzed all data in the lists. Observational data in BUFR, Surface data and Upper air data will be disseminated to DCPC Bangkok and DCPC Hong Kong from their backup GISC during this year.

CMA’s Disaster Recovery Site CMA’s Disaster Recovery Site in Yungang that is 21KM away from CMA. As one of the importance parts of DRS, there is a backup system with the same architecture as RTH Beijing. When MSS of RTH Beijing, web service of GISC Beijing or network connection to RMDCN has failure, these services will be continuous provided by DRS in Yungang. CMA is scheduling some connection tests with other GISCs.

Ongoing work Updating Beijing WIS Portal system to the 2nd version ( v2.0) developing WIS monitoring service in GISC Beijing ( according to the “GISC MONITORING AND REPORTING REQUIREMENTS” from WIS Monitoring Workshop ) to enhance monitoring and warning for availability of system and WIS services ( facing to system administrators ) to provide meaning real-time WIS monitoring service ( facing to WIS users ) to provide quarterly reporting to WMO to provide incident reporting to WMO optimizing existing functions in v1.0 Metadata Search ( SOLR service/ Geographic service ) 24h Cache access ( to support GISC backup service ) Subscription ( to improve interactive interface, all internal DCPC subscription is available in GISC Beijing) Web ingest ( to apply https ) adding new functions User forum IQWMA

Plans The 2nd version of Beijing WIS Portal will be in operation before July 2016. To make progress in implementing AMDCN and Continue to prompt the capacity building for AoR of GISC Beijing in 2016.

Summary Ms Zhu reported the current statues of routine dissemination for GISC Beijing’s subscription users. Dissemination via CMACast takes the major work for subscription service. GISC Beijing provided on-site training to AoR of GISC Beijing and neighbouring NMHMs in 2014 and 2015. Ms Zhu introduced a disaster recovery site of GISC Beijing was built in 2014, it is 21KM away from CMA. Ms Zhu introduced CMA has started the work to update Beijing WIS Portal system to the 2nd version ( v2.0), including developing WIS monitoring service in GISC Beijing and optimizing existing functions. The new system will be in operation before July 2016. GISC Beijing plans to make progress in implementing AMDCN and Continue to prompt the capacity building for AoR of GISC Beijing in 2016. .
