Erasmus Mundus: three actions Joint Masters and Doctoral Programmes implemented by EU and non-EU HEIs full-study scholarships for students; grants for visiting scholars Action 2 Partnerships EU and non-EU HEIs scholarships for short-term or degree-seeking student mobility at a range of levels, and for staff Action 3 Promotional projects raise profile of European higher education tackle challenges of international higher education cooperation 3

Erasmus Mundus - Action 1 to date 131 EMMCs and 34 EMJDs providing scholarships in 2012-2013 In these 165 Action 1 consortia: 803 instances of participation by 445 different HEIs 340 EU HEIs, 105 non-EU, (none oPt) 12,034 Masters students selected, 2004-2011 (14 oPt) 1,600 Masters scholars selected, 2004-2009 (1 oPt) 346 Doctorate fellows selected, 2010-2011 (none oPt)

Erasmus Mundus - Action 2 to date (ECW, 2007-2009, Action 2 2010) 46 partnerships selected in 2011 162 partnerships selected, 2007 – 2011 (144 running) 2,900 participations by 1,031 different HEIs 326 EU, 705 non-EU (incl. 9 from oPt) 14,000 mobilities – 219 from oPt (2007-2010) selections)

Erasmus Mundus - Action 3 to date (Ex-Action 4, 2004-2008) 7 projects for promotion of European higher education selected in 2011 55 Enhancing attractiveness projects 2004-2011 597 participations by organisations (294 from Europe, 283 from third countries, including 2 from oPt in one project) 7 information projects managed by National Structures (2009, 2010, 2011) 5 Clusters of Erasmus Mundus projects

EM Call 2012 Participation of HEIs in all three actions Students and staff/scholars in Action 1 and 2 To strengthen participation in all actions, in particular Action 2 (Occupied Palestinian territory, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria): Min. number to be selected : 2 Min. budget EUR 4.428 million Min. mobility for at least 230 individuals on all academic levels

The future Erasmus Mundus II runs until end 2013 In November, European Commission issued proposals for « Erasmus for All, 2014-2020 » Three components: Mobility Cooperation Policy Next steps: Proposal is discussed in European Parliament and by EU Member States
