Strategic Plan Go to Strategic Plan PowerPoint

ASW – The New WCPSS local option https://sites.google.com/a/wcpss.net/wcpss-asw-resource-site/

ASW 2015-16 ASW Pilot 2016-17 Teacher Validated Class Schedule Principal Approves Validation Platform Chooses 5 target classes Teacher Selects 1 objective per class (representing different strands/standards from the curriculum) Principal Validates Objective Selection Teacher gathers evidence from 2 points in time No Schedule Validation is necessary Teacher selects 2 representative classes Indicates objectives and growth goals with administrator at initial PDP conference Teacher gathers evidence, writes narrative to reflect growth The differences are highlighted on these slides

ASW 2015-16 ASW Pilot 2016-17 Teacher uploads evidence with narrative explaining growth Outside raters review and determine rating (does not meet/ meets/ exceeds expected growth) Teacher receives rating and generic comments several months later If teacher is on a semester plan the process is repeated twice each year. Teacher & Administrator meet to review artifacts – determine rating as a function of Standards 1-5 ASW Rating itself cannot make/break the teacher on any single standard but serves to inform the overall ratings Results can inform future PDP goals Overall district results will be shared with DPI WCPSS will have to report ratings to DPI. Central Office will spot-check 15% of the submissions to validate the accuracy of teacher/principal rating. This will be a ‘blind’ spot check that will verify if our process is legitimate.
