Upper Valley Career Center Piqua, Ohio School-to-Work Apprenticeship

25 programs-12 career clusters

Align the Needs of Employers with Job Training and Education Offerings What is School-to-Apprenticeship? Align the Needs of Employers with Job Training and Education Offerings It's a business-driven model combining on-the-job training and related technical instruction. Apprenticeship is a flexible training strategy that can be customized to meet the needs of every business. And most importantly, we think, it's an earn and learn model, allowing apprentices to receive a paycheck from day one so that they can earn wages while they learn on the job. I would also say that apprenticeship is the other 4 year degree, except without the debt. Classroom education, coupled with on the job training along with wage compensations….helps the employers have a skilled & credentialed workforce! It’s win-win-win...The students get training and certification and have no debt when they graduate. The companies get young employees with the skills the company is specifically seeking. Be Skilled Be Qualified Be Paid

“It’s the other Four-Year Degree” This program pays the students while in school. Students who meet the qualifications are paid a wage while pursuing their chosen career path at the Upper Valley Career Center. Credit for completion of program can be applied to an associates degree of study at a local college. Two year as well a three year + =
