Mark Your Calendars 11/18 Report Cards Issued 11/23 No School Super. Conf. Day 11/24 & 11/25 Thanksgiving Break Math : Students just completed their 10 week benchmark assessments and are moving on to exponents. Multiplication Fluency continues to be a focus as well. Practice, practice, practice!!! Word Study : We are changing our menus for 2nd Quarter…great new options! Reading : Reading is very tied into our writing unit at this time. We are doing a lot of reading about non fiction topics and what features help us understand this different text. Students are still reading their Just Right fiction books independently. Writing : Students have been researching information to support their nonfiction articles they are writing on about a topic they are experts in. We will celebrate our writing December 9th. Social Studies : We are learning about the 3 branches of government and the history of our early government and what our forefathers set up for our countries “new” government. We checked out some classic “School House Rock” videos on history. * Please remember to check & sign your child’s planner each day… (remember assignments are posted on the web as well…) * Newsletters are posted twice monthly on the school website at your teacher’s site…enjoy this hard copy as a reminder to check us out online.
