FIELDWORK FOCUS Approximately 2000 words 25% of final grade The study is divided into four parts SETTING THE SCENE METHOD OF DATA COLLECTION DATA PRESENTATION AND ANALYSIS EVALUATION AND CONCLUSION

SETTING THE SCENE This involves This involves LOCATION (maps) and BACKGROUND information An explanation of how the question links to the specification Relevant information about the place chosen as the focus for the investigation The investigation question and breaking it down into KEY QUESTIONS EXPECTED OUTCOMES from your key questions

METHOD OF DATA COLLECTION This involves A description of the fieldwork techniques that could be carried out to collect primary data for the enquiry (MANY of them!) A DETAILED explanation of why these methods are used What problems were encountered in the data collection This can be done as a table Photographic evidence of data collection

DATA PRESENTATION AND ANALYSIS This involves Presentation of data collected in an appropriate range of forms Maps, graphs, photos, sketches, newspaper/magazine articles, etc A DESCRIPTION of the key findings shown by the data An EXPLANATION of the key findings

EVALUATION AND CONCLUSION This involves Revisiting the original question and key question and drawing substantiated conclusions using evidence that you collected Commenting on the success and usefulness of the investigation Commenting on the limitations of the investigation Making reasoned suggestions for improving and extending the investigation
