The Four Agreements By Don Miguel Ruiz I’d like to share with you four agreements that will not only make our classroom environment more conducive to learning, but will help you in your every day life as well. Would you like less drama in your life and less anxiety, stress and conflict? Do you want to get out of adolescence alive? Let me show you…

The Four Agreements 1. Be Impeccable with your Word 2. Do not take anything personally 3. Do not make assumptions 4. Always do your best Let’s take a look at each one…

1. Be Impeccable with your Word Speak with integrity Say only what you mean Avoid speaking against yourself and gossiping about others Use the power of your words in the direction of truth and beauty Personal honesty and independence, unity, compete, sound. Impeccable means without flaw.

2. Do not Take Anything Personally This is a tough one, I know! Nothing others do is because of you What others do is a projection of their own reality, their own mindset When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you will not be the victim of needless suffering 

3. Do Not Make Assumptions What is an “assumption”? Find the courage to ask questions and to express what YOU really want Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and drama A statement accepted as true without proof

4. Always Do Your Best Your best is going to change from day to day Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret. Now let’s get to know you!!

On a Notecard List your name, my name, and the class period. Tell me about your strengths in English Tell me about your weaknesses in English What do you hope to learn this year?
