Student Lounge or Man-Cave?

Shalhevet’s Student Lounge... Recently, the student lounge has been dominated by male students who compete in Ping Pong games. It is incredibly loud, messy, and smelly in the lounge.

Proposal: Students wish to designate a separate room to be the “girl’s student-lounge.”

Questions to consider... What is the purpose of a student lounge? Who’s responsibility is the maintenance of the lounge? Is it fair for the girls to have a separate student lounge while the regular student lounge is “non- denominational?” Is it fair of the students involved in the Ping Pong tournaments to do what they have done with the lounge? Can we come up with a set of guidelines for the lounge? Do students have the right to turn the student lounge into whatever they’d like? Is one Ping Pong table not enough?
