IPv6 – THE WAY TO THE SECURE INTERNET ALEXANDER NEVALENNYY

Actual troubles for the Internet today. Deep Web High crime situation Harmful content New era of cyber terrorism Law problems (start and end of transnational offence) Etc.

Why troubles can not be resolved? IPv4 in way of saving addresses has NAT NAT is root of all anonymity technologies Malefactors are able to do all actions without fear to be catched Police services of all countries waste their time to monitor actions in the Internet for years to catch bandits.

What about IPv6? Large pool of addresses allow to stop using NAT Specific of prefix address allow to distribute addresses between countries (global ISPs) then last ones will distribute to companies and individuals SLAAC (EUI-64) allow to connect device to each individual or company

How to make a static address? The serious problem is both how to save static number for each device and real needs to do it For physically static servers and equipments it is not big deal. For laptops and cell phones there are a lot of problems. Possible decision is to make global exchanging service between ISPs to make routing tables for new devices. ______________________________________________ Static address is very important not only for security but for conception of “Internet of things” to communicate and drive your devices using only one ip foe one device.

SLAAC vs DHCPv6 Wrong position!!! SLAAC is way of making static address first time from your ISP. DHCPv6 is needed for giving new information, for example to send address of DNS-server.

Not only technical decisions! Internet might have to have regulator like ICANN and single cyber police like Interpol.

Results of implementation. The stopping of anonymity actions in the Internet Decreasing of crime activity Effective investigations by police services Decreasing of wrong content

Fears and legends. Without anonymous services private life will be tracked. IPv6 support IPsec, individuals has a chance to encrypt their massages. 2. Organization of single regulator and police will broke idea of Internet freedom and independence. The Regulator and police need to make fast process but not to make boarders or control users but for good work of Internet. 3. Denying NAT we are insured from pirate usage of NAT. Yes, but the pirate usage can be tracked by timing of requests between PCs. 4. Without NAT, firewalls will not be able to protect devices. - No, firewall can protect without NAT. Also every device can use an individual firewall like a program.

Possible outline for first time Maximizing providing of the main idea at international forums and conferences. Making Internet-Draft to organize work – group at IETF in way of changing RFCs Working in GAC public conversations to reach international agreements Working in ASO public conversations to reach right distribution of IPv6 addresses
