Athens emerged into a democracy, a government by the people.

Solon outlawed debt slavery and freed the slaves.

Cleisthenes started the Council of 500 which was made up of common citizens.

Limits to Athenian democracy:

Education of the Athenians:

Religious beliefs of the Greeks:

Using your knowledge and sheet from yesterday, create a story about Sparta and/ or Athens. Use at least 4 vocabulary terms (phalanx, Solon, Greek gods, etc.) throughout your story 

Add illustrations with your work. Ex. Scrupulus was a poor boy in Athens who could not afford an education. He decided to head to another polis where he could find work. He waved good bye to his family and headed on his way. Sparta was his destination.
