Evangelism The base meaning of this word is the good news, glad tidings or to preach the gospel In its broadest sense, it means the entire word of God – 1 Timothy 1:5-11
Evangelism In its more strict sense, it means to teach: The facts of the gospel – 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 The faith of the gospel – Philippians 1:27; Hebrews 4:2 The obedience to the gospel – 2 Thessalonians 1:8 Example – Acts 8:26-40
Is the gospel enough? – Galatians 1:6-9 Evangelism Is the gospel enough? – Galatians 1:6-9 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

Some Reasons for Evangelism The message is so important that a strong faith demands it. - 2 Corinthians 4:13 Faith promotes a necessity to proclaim it - 1 Corinthians 9:16 Every member is critical in getting the message out - Ephesians 4:12, 16 Knowledge of the word passed on urges others to continue the process - 2 Timothy 2:2
Some Reasons for Evangelism Knowledge coupled with wisdom makes one a better teacher - 2 Timothy 2:24–26 We must bear fruit for him. Part of fruit bearing is teaching others - John 15:5–8 Jesus taught a great visual lesson about this - Mark 11:12–14 We might have knowledge, but we need to be stirred to teach - 2 Timothy 1:6–7
