What is TARP? Introduction TARP is the acronym for Triggered Action Response Plan On Joel Mine the process is referred to as TSM – TEAM, SUPERVISOR, MANAGEMENT BOTH are plans to elevate identified safety risks to higher levels of authority Firstly identifying FOG risks – Later other risks can be identified

Introduction THE IMPLEMENTATION PROCESS: Formed a TARP Mine Adoption Team Visited the Source Mine – Xstrata Kroondal. Involved Organised Labour Conducted Mental Model Interviews on shaft. E-Learning facility constructed. An information session – LB and BC Started team training (all stoping, dev and vamp. complete). Follow up visits underground.

Joel’s Leading Practice comprises three components First and foremost Joel’s Leading Practice comprises three components Leadership Behaviour – What sort of behaviour should all levels of leadership on Joel Demonstrate TARP - TSM Behavioural Communications – What messages should be communicated to get the desired behaviour Practice _

Purpose of TARP The purpose of TARP is to assist: MANAGEMENT (M) SUPERVISOR (S) TEAM (T) To identify Hazards that could result in FOG To classify the hazard according to the TSM system Take the required action as per the TSM System Identify the possible causes of these hazards

When desired behavior is observed, react Leadership Behavior: The Crux When desired behavior is observed, react Positive Immediate Certain When undesired behavior is observed, coach Unconditional management support Respectful and caring Open communication to lowest levels, listen!
