Decision Making Ch. 9 Journal: What are 3 of the biggest decisions you are facing in your life right now and 3 of the smallest decisions you are facing in your life right now?

Recognizing & Analyzing Problems Everyone has problems! Problem = a situation that makes you feel uncomfortable in some way. Problems force you to make DECISIONS! Decision = making a choice for arriving at a solution to a problem.

How do YOU react to problems?? Angry, confused, depressed? You’re normal. Different people handle problems in different ways. Ignoring a problem, however, is NOT GOOD! Getting angry won’t get you anywhere! Talk to someone.

Analyzing Problems Think about why you are having the problem in the first place and what steps you can take to solve it! This will require you to make some DECISIONS! You are always making decisions, remember?

Typical Ways People Make DECISIONS Do nothing Decide on a whim or impulse. Decide by habit. Decide by imitation. Let others decide. These ways of dealing with problems leads to unhappiness

The Decision Making Process 7 Steps to making a good decision for YOU! Define your want. Look carefully at your resources. Identify your choices. Gather information on your choices. Evaluate/Compare your choices. Make your decision. Make a plan and GET STARTED!
