Volume 56, Issue 2, Pages 479-485 (August 1999) Inhibitory effects of female sex hormones on urinary stone formation in rats  Masanori Iguchi, Chisato Takamura, Tohru Umekawa, Takashi Kurita, Kenjiro Kohri  Kidney International  Volume 56, Issue 2, Pages 479-485 (August 1999) DOI: 10.1046/j.1523-1755.1999.00586.x Copyright © 1999 International Society of Nephrology Terms and Conditions

Figure 1 (A) Substances stained purple were observed in the distal tubule of the medulla (HE stain, ×100, the sham+EG group). (B) These substances were stained dark-brown (von Kossa stain, ×120, the Ooph+EG group). Figure 2 Northern blot analysis of the level of osteopontin (OPN) mRNA. The level of OPN mRNA was higher in the Ooph+EG group than in the sham+EG group. OPN mRNA expression was markedly reduced in the Ooph+EG+FH group. Total RNA was isolated from the kidney and electrophoresed on a 1.2% agarose gel (total RNA 20 μg/lane). The arrows indicate 1.6 kb, 18 S and βbgr;-actin. Kidney International 1999 56, 479-485DOI: (10.1046/j.1523-1755.1999.00586.x) Copyright © 1999 International Society of Nephrology Terms and Conditions
