The Triple Crown of Mathematics

The Triple Crown of Mathematics The Triple Crown is a series of three live action Thoroughbred horse races that run in May and early June. The best 3 year old thoroughbred horses in the world are invited to race in what is considered to be the highest level of professional horse racing. The Triple Crown of Mathematics combines the spirit of these legendary races with some of the most challenging Math word problems. You’ll have to analyze and think your way through the tough terrain that is the Kentucky Derby, The Preakness, and The Belmont Stakes, in an effort to capture the Triple Crown of Mathematics. Answer all questions correct, and YOU could WIN the TRIPLE CROWN!

TRIPLE CROWN WINNER!!! How to Play: WIN = 1st Place PLACE = 2nd Place SHOW = 3rd Place WIN = 1st Place PLACE = 2nd Place SHOW = 3rd Place Each race course contains 5 challenging math word problems. After you respond to each question, your horse will move further up the track. If you answer 5 out of 5 correct you WIN the race. If you answer 4 out of 5 correct you PLACE. If you answer 3 out of 5 correct you SHOW. At the end of the 3rd race (Belmont) add up the total amount you answered correctly from all three races. If you answered all 15 questions correct, you are the: *(answer key provided, print out last slide of the powerpoint) TRIPLE CROWN WINNER!!!
