Programming the radio The First step is to turn on the radio Pull on the knob lightly and turn to PT Wait for the radio to go through its internal checks

Programming the radio Press the 8 (PGM) key Press the right arrow button until MODE is highlighted Press the ENT button PRESET should be highlighted press the ENT button CHANNEL should be highlighted press the ENT button

Programming the radio Now choose an unoccupied channel number by using the number buttons in this case press 001 then ENT button For RX FREQUENCY type in 07.1234 this will be our frequency for today. Press the ENT button. For TX FREQUENCY type in 07.1234 this will be our frequency for today. Press the ENT button RX (receive) TX (transmit)

Programming the radio Modulation scroll down to FM and press ENT RX ONLY leave at NO press ENT LIMIT MAX TX POWER leave at NO press ENT ENABLE SSB SCAN leave at NO press ENT

Programming the radio Press the 8 (PGM) key Press the right arrow button until MODE is highlighted Press the ENT PRESET should be highlighted press the ENT Scroll over to SYSTEM Press ENT

Programming the radio SYSPRE1 should be highlighted press ENT Type in name for today we will leave it at SYSPRE1 Press ENT Leave RADIO MODE at FIX press ENT Now enter the channel number that we used for our frequency earlier 001

Programming the radio Leave MODEM PRESET OFF press ENT For ENCRYPTION TYPE scroll down to NONE press ENT Leave PT VOICE MODE at CLR For CC/CT VOICE MODE scroll done to NONE Leave ENABLE at YES

Programming the radio Press CLR until you are at the radio screen Scroll over until the CHAN number is highlighted and scroll up or down to the channel that we used for our frequency press ENT To check to make sure that everything was entered correctly Press the 0 button and it will show the all the information. Now do a radio check
