So What … are our Data priorities? Phase I: Contract Types Pay Bill Census Data Quality Reports NMC Interface MDS 2011 and beyond: All Wales Common Operating Framework Data Validation Tool Contract Types: Bank; Fixed Term; Locums; Honorary – e.g. all Occupation Codes for Locums must be prefixed with ‘1’ Need to agree definitions across Wales what is classed as a Locum e.g 3month or less contract – over 3 months = Fixed Term Includes no record exceeding 1 WTE Pay Bill: Consistent recording of non-basic pay elements Allign current differentials between finance capture and calculation of FTE and that of WF Census Non-categorised records – 96 records repeatedly 2008 and 2009 Capture of Locum Staff – census excludes locum covering maternity and sickness to avoid double counting – NB no local knowledge in # extracted Validation all records noted as Medic DATA VALIDATION STRINGS: Job Role Occ Code Area of Work Use of Location Paygrade Payscale OLM Sickness Reason LONG TERM: Start with MSC – Modernising Scientific Careers – September 2011
