If one of your students’ Needs to go, and it is not on your car YOU MUST GO WITH THEM! ٭The kids are free to move about on Your section, but to go into other sections of the train, you will need to accompany them.

Chaperone Guidelines cont. Remember, we are entrusting you to be a model for our students. No smoking will be allowed No purchasing or consumption of alcoholic beverages will be permitted No use of inappropriate language For the safety of our students, anyone who violates these rules will NOT be allowed to attend future school trips as a chaperone.

Basic Itinerary Leave at 5:30 a.m. Arrival at the Amtrak train station in Charlotte. Ride Amtrak to Raleigh Walk to the downtown area for tours Tour the Science and History Museums, along with the Legislative Building-Guided Tour Eat dinner from Chick-fil-A Ride Amtrak back to Charlotte Arrive back at Forrest Hunt ~ around 11:00 p.m.

Map of Downtown Raleigh * After we depart the train, we will begin our walk to the downtown area of Raleigh. This involves crossing streets and a few turns, so please keep your students right beside you at all times during this hectic part of the trip. Once we arrive at the center, we will divide up into classes to tour each facility separately.

NC Science Museum The items in the gift shops are somewhat expensive and will require your complete attention to the students. If you choose to take your group, you will be responsible for their actions. If you don’t feel comfortable doing this, you are welcome to take your group of students outside to wait on the rest of the group.

North Carolina History Museum

Gift Shop Visits The items in the History Museum gift shop are more reasonably priced. Please allow time for you and your group to tour this prior to moving on from this building. Please keep a close eye on their behavior during this. If you have a problem, please discuss it with your child’s teacher.

Final Thoughts If you have any questions/comments regarding the trip, please see one of us. Remember, we are all representing Forrest Hunt Elementary – Let’s shine like the stars we are!
