Executive summary Because the executive summary will be one of the first things a reviewer reads, make sure that it persuades her to continue reading your proposal Here is where you convince the reviewer that your proposed methods is necessary, and help her understand the need of the project and the results you expect from it. Should be in ONE PARAGRAPGH Executive summary consist of brief information on project. It is a summary of the proposal Executive summary consist of : Introduction Problem statement Purpose of study Methodology Expected result

Executive summary SAMPLE OF EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Rice bran is a brown colour by-product of rice that can be obtained from the outer layer of the rice kernel during the milling process. It contains abundance nutrients such as protein, fat, fiber, and vitamin. As a source of essential fat, rice contains the high content of lipids limits the use of rice bran due to the possibility of rancidity. Rancidity due to the presence of Free Fatty Acid (FFA) will cause serious problems to food, feed and manufacture industry. This project aims to study the effects of microwave heating on the physiochemical properties of rice bran. In this research, microwave heating is expected can extend the storage period by inactivating the lipase enzyme inside the rice bran. In this project, microwave heating treatment will be used to inactivate the activity of lipase inside the rice bran. Different parameters test such as moisture content, rancidity, pH value, and colour of rice bran will be carried out. These parameters are carried out to show the effects of microwave heating on the rice bran in the different aspect. The results obtained from the experiments will be compared with the untreated fresh rice bran. Moisture content, rancidity, pH value and colour of fresh rice bran before microwave heating treatment will be recorded to act as the control for the resulting sample. In the project, air oven will be used to obtain moisture content inside rice bran. The colour of rice bran will be determined using a colorimeter. Also, soxhlet extraction will be carried out to obtain lipid from rice bran. Besides, Free Fatty Acid (FFA) percentage that indicates the rancidity of rice bran will be determined by using the alkaline method and pH meter will also be used to obtain the pH of the lipid. This study will be used to observe the effects of the microwave different power levels and heating time interval on the rice bran. The research result expected in the project is to obtain the optimum treatment sample with the lowest change in FFA percentage, greater decrease in moisture content, smallest change in pH, and least colour change of rice bran sample.
