What are the four R’s in Ecology. https://www. youtube. com/watch Mrs. Donohue

1. What does reduce mean? A. using less of something to decrease waste and pollution. B. Example: carpooling to work

2. What does reuse mean? Using what you have over and over again rather than buying something new. A. Example: using a ceramic mug over and over rather than using new Styrofoam cups daily for coffee

3. What does recycle mean? Using recycled products and recycling products to decrease waste and pollution A. Example: recycling plastic bottles to make fleece jackets

4. What does restore mean? replacing what has been removed A. Example: planting a tree if one is cut down. B. Removing invasive species to allow native growth to grow.

5. What is single stream recycling? Not needing four different containers to recycle A. Use one container for all recycling

6. What should not be recycled? 1. food 2. plastic bags 3. styrofoam 4. batteries 5. electronics

7. What is biomass and how is this an alternative to fossil fuels? Renewable resource Trees Wood Corn Stalks Alternative resource since you can burn for heat
