Pre-note reading exercise Lesson 2 PowerPoint by Tracy King Read the Pictures Pre-note reading exercise Lesson 2 PowerPoint by Tracy King How to Use this Resource: Have students speak the name of the pictures together. Emphasize how important it is to stay together when chanting, just like when we sing. For young groups you may want to start this lesson by doing only the pictures during their first day and move on to step two on their next day. Have students identify pictures that have one syllable. On all the pictures that have one syllable, replace saying the name of the picture with one clap. Repeat process with pictures with 2 syllables. Next time copy/paste quarter notes over pictures with one syllables and say and clap. Repeat with barred eighth notes and pics with 2 syllables.
