Conflict Resolution What De- Escalates Conflict? DE-ESCULATING CONFLICT Attack the problem not the person Brainstorm Together Treat the other person the way you want to be treated Call the other person by name Use a calm voice Use words like lets, we, our and together Ask to hear the other point of view Relax your Body Conflict Resolution Chapter 2 Lesson 1: Building Health Skills

Conflict Resolution THINK QUESTION Can you resolve conflict peacefully and healthy? How? How do you resolve conflict peacefully if the other person does not want to resolve it? Remember, if things start to get heated a fight will not solve the issues. It may cause damage to a friendship that may never be healed, and could result in physical danger as well. Learn to walk away to let your anger subside, and then use the communication skills you have learned to resolve the problem in a way that maintains your relationship in a positive, safe way. Which:    Identify requirements/constraints. Why:       Specific reasons or purpose Specific Chapter 2 Lesson 2: Making Responsible Decisions and Setting Goals

I will study Spanish everyday for the next month to improve my vocabulary. I will join the Spanish Club, German club, Latin club, Mandarin club and Portuguese clubs at school and participate in all of the activities to learn the languages. Which goal is Attainable? Chapter 2 Lesson 2: Making Responsible Decisions and Setting Goals

Which Goal is Realistic? I will take a nap every day to feel good about myself. I will hang out with my neighbor because my Mom told me I should and that it would make me feel better to have more friends. I will join one club at school and participate in the activities to help my self-esteem. I will have lots of friends when I’m older and be happy. Which Goal is Realistic?
