Required Materials Folder with pockets to store handouts and notes Plastic bag (dry cleaning or kitchen garbage bags), no crunchy plastic Pencil for carving in clay

Absence and Tardy Policy You are expected to be in class on time and will earn 3 points per day for prompt attendance. You will lose 2 points for each tardy, 3 points for unexcused absences, and 10 points for a cut. Missed tests or quizzes due to a cut will not be allowed to be made up

Absence and Tardy Policy YOU are responsible for making up missed classroom time, quizzes, and other work when absent. PowerPoint lessons and other resources are available via Moodle.

Rules! Respect all people in the classroom at all times. Respect the classroom, equipment, and tools at all times. Come to class mentally and physically prepared to learn and create. Clean up after yourself and participate in the weekly cleaning schedule. To receive credit for your work, projects must have your name and period clearly written on them. Graded projects must be taken home promptly. Any project found broken on campus will receive a zero.

Basic Classroom Procedures When you get to class you may immediately begin working…but you must be in your assigned seat (not up and about) until after I have taken roll Before leaving the classroom, you must have all materials cleaned and put away, table area wiped, and floor clean. Be seated to be excused.

Use of Tools Tools are shared – do not hide them in your cubby Replace tools at the end of the period CLEAN and in their designated location Treat tools gently, they are expensive!

Daily Cleaning Duties In addition to cleaning up after yourself on a daily basis, you will receive a week long job several times during the trimester Cleaning requirements are posted on office window

Use of Clay Take only the amount you have been asked to use Wedge and reuse your clay whenever possible Soft Clay – back in the bags Leather hard and bone dry clay – in rolling bins

Sinks Rinse the worst of the clay off of your hands in the sink bin without running the water Finish by using running water We have plumbing issues, take care clay doesn’t go down drain! Get your paper towel to the trash can! Do not leave clay or tools in the sinks Do unto others: you make things easy for the weekly cleaner if you clean up after yourself
