ESTAT at Great Bridge High School: Our Tiered Intervention Model Donna Weingand, API ESTAT Round Table Discussion June 2016
ESTAT: Enhanced Student-Teacher Assistance Teams ESTAT: A multidisciplinary problem-solving commitment that monitors student progress and makes data–driven decisions to improve outcomes for students (RTI redefined!) Tiered Instructional Model: A process that includes the use of data to guide high-quality instruction and behavior interventions matched to student need, frequent progress monitoring, and application of student response data to make critical educational decisions.
Tiered Instruction and the High School Offering a true tiered instructional model at the high school level poses many challenges: The Master Schedule is not always flexible Block scheduling vs. the traditional model No consistent planning time No embedded intervention time/ flexible schedule
