High impact news event – 2012 Aurora shooting On July 20, 2012, twelve people were killed and around 70 others were injured when a man entered Century 16 movie theatre in Aurora, Colorado and opened fire. The sole assailant, James Eagan Holmes, was arrested in his car outside the cinema minutes later. This also was the deadliest shooting in Colorado since the Columbine High School massacre in 1999. Prior to the shooting, Holmes rigged his apartment with homemade explosives, which were defused by a bomb squad a day after the shooting.

Technological innovation A technological innovation I embraced was my computer. I embraced this because it allowed me to do everything I want, which isn’t possible on something like a mobile phone or video games console.

A popular website A popular website I use is the BBC website. I use this website because it allows me to stay up-to-date with the world news and the sports news.
