Self Image and Confidence Self image is how you see yourself. This may be how you see yourself physically or your opinion of who and what you are which is normally called self concept. It is important as it affects your self esteem and confidence. Self image includes: What you think you look like How you see your personality What kind of person you think you are What you believe others think of you How much you like yourself or you think others like you The status you feel you have http://www.more-selfesteem.com/selfimage.htm Your self-image is the “I am” definition that you say of yourself.

What does self image have to do with self esteem? Self Esteem is how you feel about yourself. Image is about how you see yourself and how you believe others see you. They are closely connected because if you have a poor opinion of yourself your self esteem will be low. How to feel good about yourself? Learn to be your own best friend. Be true to yourself. Understand that there are lots of good reasons to feel positive about yourself. Improve yourself always and whenever you can as there is no-one on this planet who cannot benefit from some self-analysis and self development. Be grateful for what you have. Build your Self Confidence because without confidence you will not be able to face the hard challenges or decisions that await you and, in addition, lack of confidence will impact your relationships, career and success. Remember your achievements no matter how small. Know what you want. Learn who you are. Actively work on improving how you feel about yourself. http://www.more-selfesteem.com/feeling_good_about_yourself.htm

Is Self-Image Important? You see yourself based on how you think others see you. You tend to internalize after you hear over and over the criticisms or compliments from others. A poor self-image affects your self-esteem and accomplishments. http://www.slideshare.net/licoreis/how-to-improve-your-self-image

Obstacles of Self-Image There are some obstacles that can affect your self-image, such as: Excessive shyness and timidity Extreme humility Feeling defeated Remembering past hurts and failures and feeling remorse Comparing yourself unfavourably with others and feeling inferior Ashamed of how you look and feeling self-disgust http://www.slideshare.net/licoreis/how-to-improve-your-self-image

What can you do to Improve your Self Image? List things you like about yourself – include appearance, personality and skills Change negative thoughts to positive ones by focusing on the positive and forgetting the negative things that happen to you Remember compliments and note them down Question whether your view of yourself is accurate and why you see yourself like you do Make changes that will help you; for example, clothes, appearance, hair style and behavior Accept things about yourself that are true and learn to think about them in a positive way Get exercise – you will look and feel better! Try to lighten up! Accept criticism constructively so you can move forward and improve yourself Take on challenges positively and surprise yourself! Don’t be limited by your internal image, step outside of it and break free, it doesn’t have to control you or keep you down. Acting differently will change how others respond towards you and will help change your attitude towards yourself and your abilities. http://www.more-selfesteem.com/selfimage.htm

Tips to Create a New Adequate Self-Image Improve your body image Changing the pictures Create new experiences Changing your beliefs http://www.slideshare.net/licoreis/how-to-improve-your-self-image

Improve your body image You have to like yourself and avoid things that destroy your body. Is there something really wrong with your body? Or is it just a mental perception based on your unrealistic expectations.

Changing The Pictures You must change the picture you have been holding of yourself. You can “delete” those old images and “install” new ones. But first, you must identify where you have messed up.

Create New Experiences A poor personal perception of how you look saps your confidence. You can create new reference experience to give you the boost. You can take some kind of positive actions to bring about a different understanding.

Changing Your Beliefs Your beliefs determine the results and experiences in your life. So if you want to experience more joy, happiness or a better relationship you must believe that it is possible. You created your beliefs by internalizing emotions to your thoughts. You can change your present limiting belief by questioning its authenticity.

Thank you!
