The additional sources of information for SBAS 26th INTEROPERABILITY WORKING GROUP MEETING (IWG)  New Delhi, India, 5th to 7th February 2014 The additional sources of information for SBAS Mr. Oleg Zavalishyn – General Director «NPPF SPECTR», Moscow, Russia

Opportunities of the GBAS and SBAS GNSS functional add-ons joint development Functional add-ons development history SBAS Aircraft GBAS Aircraft to day Suggestions of NPPF Spectr: SBAS Aircraft tomorrow GBAS Aircraft

Particularities of wide area and local differential equalizations GBAS Actual GNSS signals monitoring in the areas of SID, STAR and landing evolutions of an aircraft; Ionosphere (irrespective of value), troposphere and ephemeris errors compensation by means of differential mode is provided in the area. SBAS Calculated monitoring of the GNSS signals in the areas of SID, STAR and landing evolutions execution; Ionosphere, troposphere and ephemeris errors compensation has a spatial gradient because of RIMS farness from the region of SID, STAR and landing evolutions. To rise an integrity of GNSS signals and differential mode precision it seems reasonable to approach RIMS location to the area of SID, STAR and landing evolutions execution.

RIMS SBAS (GLONASS/GPS); Approaching of RIMS location to the area of SID, STAR and landing evolutions execution makes RIMS closer to the airport (place of GBAS installation) LCCS-А-2000 «NPPF SPECTR» (GBAS) Source of RIMS SBAS (GLONASS/GPS); Source for the GNSS monitoring center. Positioning service; Landing service.

Advantages of the LCCS-A-2000 (GBAS) usage as additional RIMS SBAS: Installation of the LCCS-A-2000 (GBAS) at the secured territory (airport); Provision of 1st group of power supply sources; Proximity to the crew landing decision point; Qualified maintenance personnel; Provision of display consoles for ATC and maintenance services ; Certified software; Gradual positioning of the airports at the territory of a state; High quality landline facilities; One authority (Transport ministry or aviation administration).

Air traffic management Installation of GBAS in Russia provided monitoring and record of GNSS signals, positioning and precise landing service in GLS mode, significant RIMS base for MS SDKM. Moreover changes were introduced into the following Federal aviation rules for: Air traffic management Flight radio-technical support and aeronautical telecommunication R/T phraseology Flight tests Flights execution Annex 10 vol 1 SARPS ICAO also doesn’t exclude combined use of the GBAS and SBAS technologies (e.g. point 3.5.8.3.)
