Customer Problems Solved Susceptible to e-mail viruses that may cripple business Waste time sifting through heaps of junk e-mail (SPAM) Lose time when out of the office because you can’t do e-mail or collaborate Trouble finding contact info. for work associates and customers

More Customer Problems Solved Spend excess time scheduling meetings or locating work associates E-mail address conveys an unprofessional or tiny business image Need an affordable solution easy enough for your assistant to manage

SCOoffice Server prevents known e-mail viruses Antivirus Protection Are your customers susceptible to e-mail viruses that may cripple your business? Most come from e-mail 81,000+ threats Lose data and time SCOoffice Server prevents known e-mail viruses Integrates Clam™ server-side antivirus Supports McAfee® and Sophos® antivirus If anyone has access to the Internet and e-mail, then they are susceptible to viruses, as most viruses come from e-mail. According to industry analysts, the year 2003 uncovered 81,000 virus threats. Viruses not only waste time, but they also corrupt data. SCOoffice Server stops known e-mail viruses with its built-in server-side antivirus protection. It includes Clam, an open source packages, out of the box. You may also add on commercial antivirus protection from McAfee and Sophos.

Do your customers waste time sifting through myriads of junk e-mail? Junk E-mail Filtering Do your customers waste time sifting through myriads of junk e-mail? SCOoffice Server prevents junk e-mail Automatically filters suspected junk e-mail Provides tools for customizing filters We all know that spam e-mail wastes a lot of our time. IDC recently reported that lost time as a result of spam costs businesses a lot of money. (See http://www.idc.com/getdoc.jsp?containerId=pr2004_04_12_112824) They reported that a large organization of 5000 users results in over $4 million of wasted time. Few of us service 5000-user companies, but the point is, spam translates into lost money. With the built-in SpamAssassin, you can filter out suspected junk e-mail and enable the spam filter to learn from other spam e-mail. In other words, just by placing a spam e-mail in a special folder, the spam filter will examine the message and learn to filter out similar future messages.

SCOoffice Server provides e-mail control Professional Image Does your customer’s e-mail convey an unprofessional or tiny business image? SCOoffice Server provides e-mail control Provides thousands of e-mail addresses Lets businesses use their own domain name (yourname@businessname.com) Lets businesses automatically forward e-mail with aliases Many small businesses convey an unprofessional image when they use e-mail addresses like companyabc@yahoo.com or @hotmail.com. With SCOoffice Server, the company not only gains complete control over their e-mail, but it also lets them use their own domain name as well. They can also automatically forward e-mail to other e-mail addresses with aliases and manage the entire process.

SCOoffice Server provides secure remote access Do your customers lose time when out of the office because they can’t access e-mail or collaborate? SCOoffice Server provides secure remote access Secure access from anywhere in the world Collaborate from WebClient or Microsoft® Outlook® Send and receive e-mail When people travel, they want to do e-mail and collaborate. SCOoffice Server enables them to do e-mail and collaborate from anywhere in the world without sacrificing security. They may access all their information from their laptop computer or from any Internet-enabled Web browser.

SCOoffice Server enables contact sharing Sharing Contacts Do your customers have trouble finding contact information for work associates, customers, or suppliers? SCOoffice Server enables contact sharing Shares names, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, notes, etc. Controls who may access shared contacts Many small businesses do not have a shared contact management system, so they have difficulty tracking down phone numbers or e-mail addresses for customers, suppliers, or even work associates. SCOoffice Server solves this problem because it lets you share contact lists. Users and administrators may determine who has access to the shared list and what rights they have to the list. For example, a user can indicate that Bob and Sally can see the contact list, but only Sally may change the information.

SCOoffice Server schedules and locates Scheduling Meetings Do your customers spend excess time scheduling meetings or locating associates? SCOoffice Server schedules and locates Checks for free times and schedules meetings and resources Lets users review work associates’ calendars to locate them How many of you schedule meetings by calling people or e-mailing them to find out when they’re available? Not very effective. SCOoffice Server simplifies scheduling meetings. Users may schedule meetings according to a group’s availability, finding the time that works best for everyone. Users may also view other calendars (those they have rights to view) to find out where they are.

SCOoffice Server Provides Alternative to Microsoft Maintain control of business operations Operate heterogeneous environments Avoid security breaches and unreliable systems Avoid high licensing and administration costs Enable reseller profitability Any business wants to maintain control of their business operations. SCOoffice Server lets you do this. Because SCOoffice Server integrates almost seamlessly with other environments, administrators are free to run heterogeneous environments. SCOoffice Server runs on one of the most secure environments, SCO OpenServer. Other e-mail solutions, such as Microsoft Exchange Server, are well known for security glitches. Some of you may recall that Exchange was recently opened up as a spam relay for spammers. With SCOoffice Server’s locked-down environment, it provides an excellent, secure solution. Avoid high licensing and administration costs. SCOoffice Server is affordable and easy to manage, unlike other solutions that are expensive and difficult to set up and secure. SCO products have traditionally been more profitable than other products, delivering excellent reseller margins. SCOoffice Server is no different from other SCO products. It provides excellent revenue opportunities.

Affordable and Easy to Manage Do your customers need an affordable solution that is easy to manage? SCOoffice Server is affordable and easy to manage Provides attractive pricing Includes easy-to-control contact lists, vacation messages, junk e-mail filtering, and much more In a lot of small and medium businesses, they don’t have technical people to manage their environment. They also don’t have the cash to pay for an expensive e-mail solution. SCOoffice Server has a friendly interface that makes it easy to manage. For example, it is easy to create contact lists, vacation messages, e-mail filters, and much more. The SCOoffice Server price tag is also very affordable for small and medium businesses. In a few minutes, I will show you that SCOoffice Server is half the price of Microsoft Exchange Server.

Location of Mail Folders in Filesystem Advantages Each email message is stored as a separate file If one file becomes corrupted, the whole data store is not corrupted Easy to restore a single email message Can rebuild a single users inbox

SCOoffice Server 4.1 vs. Microsoft Exchange 2003 Features SCO Exchange Send & receive e-mail  Reject messages based on content at server Support for third-party virus scanners Integrated server-side antivirus software  Integrated server-side anti-spam software Text-based message store Delegated alias management Web-based administration This slide shows a side-by-side comparison of SCOoffice Server 4.1 and Microsoft Exchange 2003. Please note the differences: SCOoffice Server integrates server-side antivirus and anti-spam out of the box. Exchange doesn’t: You need to purchase a third-party add-on. SCOoffice Server stores each message as a text file, which limits corruption. Exchange appends each message to a single database file. If that file becomes corrupt, then the chances of losing all data is pretty good. With SCOoffice Server, you can delegate who can manage aliases. Exchange only lets the administrator set up aliases. SCOoffice Server provides Web-based administration; Exchange doesn’t.

Calendar Feature Comparison Features SCO Exchange Share calendars  Send and receive group scheduling requests Accept & decline meeting requests Access free/busy information Delegate access for scheduling Direct booking of resources As you can see, the calendar features are the same between SCOoffice Server and Exchange.

Groupware Feature Comparison Features SCO Exchange Shared mail folders  Shared contacts Shared tasks Shared journals Delegated access Private discussion groups Server-based resource management The groupware features are also the same.
