The primary source for nuclear energy is uranium-235 The primary source for nuclear energy is uranium-235. Neutrons collide with one another and collide with nuclei, creating self- sustaining fission. A minimum mass of uranium must be present for the chain reaction to continue.

Advantages nuclear power decreases the amount of energy that comes from fossil fuels, which therefore decreases greenhouse gas emissions Produces large amounts of energy Nuclear energy can always be produced, unlike other power sources, such as wind and solar energy, which depend on the amount of wind and sun present The advantages of using nuclear energy include lower greenhouse gas emissions, more power and efficiency, more reliability, cheaper cost of electricity, lower cost of fuel, a higher supply availability, and easier transportation. Greenhouse gases have been reduced using nuclear power. Nuclear power has a low impact on the environment. It is very powerful and more efficient than some other energy sources. Nuclear power can be produced in many weather conditions, unlike solar and wind powered energy, making it more reliable. Uranium, which is used for nuclear power, is priced relatively low, making nuclear energy a cheaper option. It also produces proportionately more energy than the resources needed to create it. Its small amounts of base resources lead to a continuous supply and easy transportation.

a byproduct of nuclear power generation is radioactive waste which is difficult to dispose of and is hazardous to the environment. It takes years for the radioactivity of the waste to reduce enough to be properly disposed of. not many countries have uranium mines. there is a chance that something could go wrong at a nuclear power plant and it could cause a massive explosion. nuclear reactors do not last forever and have to constantly be disassembled and rebuilt resulting in the cost of nuclear energy increasing nuclear power can be used to make deadly nuclear weapons which can be seen as a good thing for the people in control of those weapons but mostly a bad thing for everyone else. The disadvantages of using nuclear energy include radioactive waste, accidents, radiation, investment cost, national risk, effect on human and animal life, non-renewability, and scarcity of uranium. Nuclear byproducts are dangerous and must be properly disposed of to avoid radiation leaks. Proper disposal is a major impediment to nuclear expansions. Radiation can affect people and locations, such as Chernobyl. This is a disadvantage, as a small spill can cause a lot of damage to living things. The introduction of non-natural byproducts can further damage the environment. Nuclear power also needs a lot of money and investments to start up, because plants take a long time to construct. Nuclear power can also be used to create weapons which poses a global security risk. Uranium is not as common as fossil fuels. Nuclear energy is disadvantaged because it is non-renewable. Safety: as stated before, nuclear power can be used to create nuclear weapons that, in the hands of the wrong people, could put entire countries at risk.
