How does the United States government affect the way people live? We the People Guiding Question How does the United States government affect the way people live?

The American economy is a strong free enterprise system. We the People Main Ideas U.S. citizenship is obtained through birth or naturalization and carries certain rights and responsibilities. The U.S. government has three branches to ensure shared power. The executive branch is the office of the U.S. president, the legislative branch makes laws, and the judicial branch consists of state and federal courts. The American economy is a strong free enterprise system. 2
