What is Title IV? Every Student Succeeds Act established Title IV, Part A, Students Support and Academic Enrichment (Title IV) program as one of the provisions to support students’ successes. This program is intended to help meet these goals by increasing the capacity of State educational agencies, local educational agencies, schools, and local communities to: 1) provide all students with access to a well-rounded education. 2) improve school conditions for student learning. 3) improve the use of technology in order to improve the academic achievement and digital literacy of all students. (ESSA section 4101)

This is a view of the top half of the Title IV Budget Page. These are not allowable expenses for Title IV.

Grant award of $30,000+, the grant funds must support At least 20% for well-rounded education At least 20% for safe and healthy students A portion to support effective use of technology ** The grant allows for no more than 2% of the LEA allocation to be used for direct administrative costs Grant award of less than $30,000 Funds do not have to follow the above requirements These are not allowable expenses for Title IV.

Personnel equals the (whole) number of people employed in the specific positions listed. For Title IV, check those personnel budgeted to receive salaries. The grant allows for no more than 2% of the LEA allocation to be used for direct administrative costs. FTEs (full time equivalent) can represent a percentage of an employee’s time (e.g., .25 of a School Resource Officer). Note: A job description must be submitted to the ALSDE and noted in the Goals and Objectives in the Related Documents.

Any item checked here must be explained in the Goals and Objectives in the Related Documents. Needs Assessment Participants: At a minimum, each LEA will have the eleven (11) members listed on the Advisory Council Signature page provided.

This checklist should match the detailed description provided on the Related Documents. This information should also coincide with the Budget entries. Grant award of $30,000+, the grant funds must support At least 20% for well-rounded education. At least 20% for safe and healthy students. A portion to support effective use of technology. Grant award of less than $30,000 Funds do not have to follow the above requirements.
