Planet Structure The core is made up of rock and ice. The surface features are water and gas. Saturn is not a terrestrial planet.

Atmosphere Saturn’s atmosphere is 96% hydrogen and 3% helium by volume and small amounts of methane, ammonia, and water. The mission Cassini shows that Saturn is a stormy place.

Motion Saturn’s orbit is 29.5 earth years long. Saturn’s rotation is 1 earth day and 5 earth hours long.
