Scripture
Easter Morning Matt 28:1–9 (NASB) Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the grave. 2And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred,
for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone and sat upon it. 3 And his appearance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.
4The guards shook for fear of him and became like dead men 4The guards shook for fear of him and became like dead men. 5The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified.
6He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said 6He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying.
7Go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you into Galilee, there you will see Him; behold, I have told you.”
8And they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy and ran to report it to His disciples.
9And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them 9And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him.

Watch & See Sanctuary Choir Kim Roudebush
Can you hear Him in the garden "Father let this pass from Me" Watch the soldiers gather around Him In this dark Gethsemane
Now see Him stand before Pilate Hear the crowd cry “Crucify!” Watch our Blessed Savior suffer See Him bow His head and die
Watch them take His bleeding body See them lay Him in the tomb Watch them wrap Him in the graveclothes They anoint Him with perfume
Now they'll wait they'll watch and worry Though they knew He had to die And while they waited for His promise Christ was very much alive!
See Him take the keys of satan Watch Him shake the gates of hell See Him loose the chains of darkness Watch that fountain start to swell
See Him rise up on that morning On that third appointed day Watch Him come in clouds of glory See Him take His church away
Soon He'll come in clouds of glory See Him take His church away
See Him take the keys of satan Watch Him shake the gates of hell See Him loose the chains of darkness Watch that fountain start to swell
See Him rise up on that morning On that third appointed day Watch Him come in clouds of glory See Him take His church away
Soon He'll come in clouds of glory See Him take His church away

Jesus’ resurrection changes everything.
How is it that Peter, the disciple who denied even knowing Jesus now finds the courage to speak to the church about our living hope?
1 Peter 1:3–5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused
us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,
5 who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
To have a living hope, 1) we must be born again through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 2) we must be confident of our future, and 3) we must believe the gospel.
1. We must be born again through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead (v. 3).
Great underscores the vastness of God’s mercy.
God’s great mercy is greater than the greatness of your sin.
Born again is a metaphor for what God does to us on the inside when He makes us His own and we give our lives to Him.
It means to have one’s mind changed so that he lives a new life, a life that is joyfully conformed to the will of God.
We cannot just wipe away our past sins with future good deeds; we can never catch up, never balance the scales. We need a new birth.
There are no substitutes for this birth from God.
Unless one is born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God. - Jesus
When we give up and give our lives to Jesus, we are born to a living hope.
Dead religions have dead founders and offer dead hope.
I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. -Jesus
The problem is not proof; it is human pride The problem is not proof; it is human pride. The problem is not with the head; it is with the heart.
not on the basis of deeds which we have done…, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit – Titus 3:5
Living hope comes through Jesus’ resurrection when the Holy Spirit supernaturally applies Christ’s resurrection to us.
To have true hope, we must be raised from the deadness of our sin and born again through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
2. We must be confident of our future (v. 4).
Our inheritance: it cannot die, it will be unstained by sin, and time will never cause it to fade.
3. We must believe the gospel (v. 5).
protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time -1 Peter 1:5
When we give ourselves over to God, we have access to His sustaining power through faith.
Don’t leave today without knowing you have been born again to God’s living hope through the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ from the dead.
He Lives
I hear His voice of cheer And just the time I need Him I serve a risen Savior He's in the world today I know that He is living Whatever men may say I see His hand of mercy I hear His voice of cheer And just the time I need Him He's always near

Christ Jesus lives today He walks with me And talks with me He lives He lives Christ Jesus lives today He walks with me And talks with me Along life's narrow way Salvation to impart You ask me how I know He lives He lives within my heart
