American Government OBJECTIVE SWBT list key concepts of the foundations of government using a graphic organizer. DO NOW Hobbes: In the social contract, people give up certain freedoms to the government to promote safety and well-being. People do not have the right to break the contract. They must obey the government. Locke: In the social contract, people give up certain freedoms o the government to preserve natural rights of life, liberty and property. If these are not provided for, people have a right to break the contract. Which of these two philosophies do you agree with. State your opinion in one clear sentence that could be used as a topic sentence of a paragraph.
