Iceland Parents Meeting Mrs C Robertson-Director of Ebacc/Subject Leader for Geography Mr P Boulton-Vice Principal of College

Flights All students must be at Terminal 1 departures by 5.30a.m on Friday 16th December. All students must make their own way to and from the airport. Departure-Friday 16th December 07:45a.m. Flight No. EZY1805 Arrival-Tuesday 20th December 14:00p.m. Flight No. EZY1806

Check List – What to bring? CLOTHING: Clothing needs to be considered under three headings: 1. Wet: you can expect rain at any time of the year and even if it does not rain your waterproof clothing is a good protection against wind chill. Note that the edges of glaciers can be exceptionally muddy (sometimes coming over the top of ordinary walking boots). Minimum waterproof coat and trousers. 2. Cold: at all times of the year you can expect chilly conditions and thus the principle of warm woolen clothing next to the skin topped by windproof over garments (e.g. Cagoule/anorak) is applicable. Winter conditions will be colder but more clothing does not necessarily mean greater warmth; it is the quality and the arrangement of the clothing that is important. 3. Indoors: the Centre is warm and comfortable and so you will need light clothing and footwear (e.g. trainers) around the buildings.

Other items Baggage allowance 20Kg – BUT………. Swimming bag to be packed in your hand luggage with any toiletries fitting airport security for liquids/aerosols (50ml) Hand luggage will need to be a rucksack as this will be needed to carry spare clothes and food during the day Towels – provided by the hotel but one will be needed with your swimming bag for the blue lagoon Alarm clock or phone with alarm on it.
