October 28, 2016 Language Arts – Letter K (handwriting / letter recognition / sign language / sound / song); Color Word: White; writing in our kindergarten journals (writing the date and a simple sentence to match our picture); literature about fall, pumpkins and Halloween; Introduction to syllables: clapping, robot speak, and chin movements; Listening skills; Following directions Math – Counting to 25; Calendar math; Shape: Diamond/Rhombus; Patterns; Ordinal Numbers Science – Fire Safety Guidance – Being a good listener This week had something special every day! On Monday Dr. Parker carved a pumpkin with us in science class, on Tuesday we had an amazing assembly with Kwame Alexander, on Wednesday we began writing in our kindergarten journals, on Thursday we had a visit from the Berwyn Fire Company, and on Friday we met with our 3rd Grade Buddies. We couldn’t have asked for a more exciting end to October! Next week we will celebrate Halloween and then transition into November learning a lot about the fall season including squirrels and harvest time!
