Not only that but Galveston also raised the island by 12 feet. The Hurricane affected economic development in Texas also because after the storm most major industries in Galveston moved inland to Houston. Urbanization in Texas resulted in more jobs in Service related fields. Even the Expansion of the Railroad system throughout Texas resulted in the growth of Urban Centers such as Dallas and Houston.

OIL AND TEXAS Texas is currently one of the largest states in the United States and the Oil reserves are no different. Have any of you ever been fishing out in sylvan beach?
