DEVELOPING A CULTURE OF GRACE- Romans 15:1-7

‘Culture’ – ethos, atmosphere, attitude, beliefs and values. ‘Grace’ – undeserved goodness, love and kindness. Be selfless v1+2 Suspend rightful demands : ‘…bear with the failings of the weak..’ Key – ‘…and not to please ourselves.’ ‘…to build him up.’ A builder up or a tearer down?

Submit to the instruction of the Word v4 Follow the example of Jesus v3 ‘For even Christ did not please himself…’ Submit to the instruction of the Word v4 Finding the sure hope in Christ and so be less self centred, self pleasing and self righteous. Be one in heart and mind v5 “Pulling together” in the SAME direction NOT different directions! Be united in true worship v6

Culture of grace action plan! Pray for those who have hurt you. Ask God to change YOU! Let go of grudges and forgive fellow strugglers. Serve and give of yourself to HIM and others.
