Animal model for Graves disease Animal model for Graves disease. This first animal model of Graves-like disease was achieved by injecting AKR/N mice with syngeneic (MHC-identical) fibroblasts dually transfected with mouse MHC class II (H2-k) and human TSH-R cDNA. About 25% of the animals developed endocrinologic (hyperthyroidism) and immunologic (TSI, TBII) features of Graves disease.
