Aims and Objectives To improve opportunities “to build the capacity of individuals, families and communities to secure the best outcomes for children and young people” (EA –ICSP) Increase positive parenting skills across East Ayrshire Strengthen the levels of community contact and support for families Improved joint working between and across agencies

Methodology Mapping exercise and literature review - 2006 Solihull conference Commitment from community planning partners Initial training – 2008 Reflection days Staff evaluation Commissioned research Locality multi-agency training team – 2009 3 year roll out planned – 2010 onwards Continual improvement and monitoring

Staff Evaluation 90% thought that their understanding of the approach is “Very Good/Fairly Good” 100% expressed “Yes” that they preferred this method of working 85% expressed “Yes” that they had noticed changes in families since using the approach 94% felt they has received adequate training 100% thought that more staff should be trained to use the Solihull Approach
