Current Graduation Program Requirements 80 Credits total – earned in Grade 10, 11, and 12 48 REQUIRED Course Credits (12 courses) Including Grad Transitions (4 credits) 28 or more ELECTIVE Credits (7 courses) 16 credits must be at the Grade 12 level 4 credits for Grad Transitions (required) 4 of the 80 credits must include an Applied Skill OR Fine Art Course at the Grade 10, 11, or 12 level Provincial Exams: English 12 Communications 12 5

Mandatory Daily Physical Activity Requirements (DPA) All BC students must complete All BC students must complete their DPA in both Grades 11 and 12. The DPA requires 150 minutes (2 ½ hours) of moderate to intense physical activity each week, ideally spaced over 5 days. DPA must be documented by the student and signed by an adult. PE 11/12, Dance 11/12, or a community activity may all be used. 16

Requirements for Post Secondary Education Since the requirements are always changing, you must check out the specific university web sites. Remember : The requirements to graduate from high school and to get into a university are not always aligned. Post-Secondary Institutions have their own requirements 17

So, what should you take? You must consider the following: Which electives do I want? Which career directions interests me? Are there any District Programs that interest me?* Which Math should I take? What Work Experience should I get? Do I need a Language 11? Am I repeating any courses? External Credit courses?

Is the IB Diploma Programme for YOU? Successful DP Candidates are: Critical thinkers Academically engaged and self-motivated while not grade motivated to be in the DP program Organized, hard working, and high achieving Willing to challenge themselves and their ideas Able to present ideas and express themselves clearly Able to balance academic with life outside school Able to commit to the process of the DP programme

Diploma Programme While the application process is holistic in nature, academic achievement of an MYP level 5/6 or 80% is recommended.
