Classroom management By Gareth Morris

Background Practical sessions at the gym Difficult to get all students gathered around small equipment to give effective demonstrations Students distracted by other things going on in environment Loud music makes communication difficult Background

Creation of videos for students to watch before they attend the lesson giving demonstrations of exercises to be learnt. E.g- Solution

Students didn’t like getting videos off blackboard as it took too long. So very small percentage of learners completing lesson prep. Decision made to use Edmodo which learners can download as an App on their phone. Issues

Edmodo has huge impact not just on use of videos but in all areas of the course. Improving 2-way communication Improving the ease of sharing resources Improving assessment Improving group cohesion and moral Edmodo
