Disciplinary stages What next? Stage 1 – Improvement Report, unsatisfactory performance or attendance. Tutor Report (Green) Stage 2 – Written warning and Improvement Report – Actioned by Head of Year (Orange) If the conduct does not meet acceptable standards the student will normally be given a written warning Stage 3- Final Warning – Meeting with parents and improvement contract agreed with Ho6th (Red) The student will be advised that it constitutes the third stage of the formal procedure. Termination Study

‘Negotiated Study’ ‘Negotiated Study’ comes after numerous student voice surveys from last year saying that students wanted more flexibility to come into and leave Sixth Form when they didn’t have lessons. This year when students have ‘Negotiated Study’ on their timetable students can ask a member of the Sixth Form team for ‘Negotiated Study’. If all deadlines have been met and work is up to date those students can go home to study. THIS WILL ONLY COMMENCE AFTER OCTOBER HALF TERM.

Attendance Known Absence- forms need to be filled in and given to the Sixth Form Admin team at least 2 days in advance to the appointment. 1: Missed lessons: After a missed lesson a truancy call is automatically generated through the school system 2: After 3 missed lessons and 3 contacy home will be made by the attendance team or the Sixth Form Admin team 3: Persistent absence: meeting with Head of Sixth Form and parents and contract agreed. 4: Continued absence: termination of study Got a part time job???

Pastoral Days We have 3 Pastoral Days throughout the year. UCAS day University Visit Study Skills, Successful Learners We also run a compulsory Work Shadowing Week, Activities days and Charities weeks through the year. Please see Sixth Form calendar for details

Show My Homework Most of you should be familiar with SMHW. It is a developing entity in school and this is the case for the Sixth Form. All work will be set using SMHW for Sixth Form homework, research tasks and weekly classroom assessments. Get the app on your phone. Get in the habit of using it. It is also used to set work when staff aren’t in for Sixth Form lessons. Parents can access it too!

Dolly Club Dolly Parton works 9 till 5. Dolly Club is on a Tuesday and starts after October half term Its held in the study room and biscuits and squash will be available for those working a full shift!

Rewards Rewards Postcards. Unlike main school, the Sixth Form has rewards postcards that staff send home when a student has performed really well or completed an outstanding piece of work. When a student receives 5 postcards in one term they automatically get sent a £5 voucher for Cabot Circus.

Assessment and Mock exams Assessment weeks: These are weeks where Sixth Form students have a formalised test to measure their current progress in each subject area. They usually happen in exam conditions during lessons. First set of assessments will start in the last week of Novemeber. Mock Exams These are formal exams that are completed by students in a Mock Exam week, under full exam conditions in the Sports Hall. See the Sixth Form calendar for details. First Mock Exam Week for Year 12 is in February.

Enrichment Enrichment is a timetabled and compulsory part of Sixth Form life. Each Wednesday all Sixth Form students will meet in the common room to be registered and then go on to participate in a wide range of sports and activities including: sports, photography, art, extra study, work experience and lots of other exciting things throughout the year. Activities change on a bi-termly basis.
