Lincoln College Group – Career Colleges

The brain child of Lord Baker, the ex Secretary of state for Education, to meet the needs of an industry sector. Lord Baker and Lord Dearing launched the University Technical Colleges (UTCs) to help the engineering sector but quickly realised that other industries need similar support…...... Career Colleges were born.

Construction Career College Developing the skills of learners to match a career in the construction industry Industry led education for 14-19 year olds Brickwork, Joinery (Site) and Painting & Decorating

Why is a career college needed in Construction? Our forecasts show that the industry needs to fill 282,000 new jobs in the next five years to deliver the pipeline. In addition more than 400,000 skilled workers will hit retirement age in the next decade and will need replacing. Innovations in technology and new ways of working also mean that industry will need to develop new skills. Source: CITB 2016
