The question for the week is “How can we classify and organize things? Our vocabulary words for this week are: distinguish, classify, organize, entire, startle, trouble & whole. We are working on the “bossy r” sound for the next few weeks. The “bossy r” appears in words when a vowel is followed by the r. The r controls the vowel and doesn’t let it speak! We are beginning this week with –or sounds. Teacher Notes The April Homework calendars are coming home today. Please turn in the March Homework calendar by the end of the week. If anyone completed the Spring Break reading incentive (passed out on Friday before break – sorry!), please turn them in TOMORROW! Don’t forget to check the Spirit Week calendar listed above. For more information, check the gls website. Our Week Math: We finished working on creating equal equations. We are now working on sharing with equal groups, and creating ½ and ¼. We will wrap up these lessons this week and take our assessment on Friday. Reading: This week we are continuing to work on Point of View. We are also working on irregular plurals and making/confirming predictions. Science: We are beginning a new unit – Patterns in Space. The students will be investigating the question “Why is the sun important?”
