History School was established Secondary Technical School 2nd November 1948 in Dubnica nad Váhom. At the beginning the school did not have its own teachers, so the lessons were given by the teachers of the Škoda Apprentice School and also by the plant’s specialists. The school year 1951/52 had a big importance in its history. The school gained its own administration independence and it needed new suitable rooms. The nowadays building was opened in May 1957. Modern educational methods combined with modern technologies are the main reasons why our students represent the school successfully. During 60 years the school enables students to get great education what gives them big opportunities on the labour market.

Mechanical engeneering It is focused on graphics systems, mechanical engineering, mechanical technology. After four years students will have great knowledge of graphics systems Solid Edge and pro engineer and still widely used autocad 2009. Excellent opportunity for development of students´ skills are two CNC machines working under Sinumeric programme. Students learn it in the 3rd and 4th grade. The school is also equipped with 3D measuring device – the first one at secondary schools in Slovakia. Students transform theory to reality in practice lessons. Students participate in many competitions

Mechatronics Our youngest study course was founded in 2003. Students specialise in construction, modelling and programming of mechatronic systems, programming CNC machines, two foreign languages and students are taught how to establish and run small and midsized businesses. This specialization contains knowledge of mechatronics, electrical engineering, mechanisation and IT.

Electrical engeneering Students of this specialization are educated and trained in designing of control and regulating circuits, programming of microcontrollers, PLC, diagnostic of electrical circuit, electrical devices control , one foreign language (English, German). They have possibility to profile their studies. In the second class, they can choose between automation technology and power electronics. To help for eductation the new laboratory was founded a year ago.

Technical and Information services Students of this specialization gain knowledge in administration, human resources management, bookkeeping, two foreign languages . They use different information technologies during their studies: ALFA – the program of single-entry bookkeeping AMULET– the program of double-entry bookkeeping OLYMP– the program of salary calculation E-banking ATF (all ten fingers) – the program for learning of typing with all ten fingers. Our school has obtained this program in INFOVEK project. Students of this study course set up a student company in the third grade.

After-school activity Our school offer a wide range of differents sports and social activites. Throughout the year educational trips are organized to important Slovak plants, power stations as well as museums and various exhibitions. Students highly appreciate excursions to Vienna, Munich, Prague. School also offer a various sports opportunities such as football, floorball, basketball, volleyball and very popular bodybuilding. Every year our students compete in these sports and gain a lot of success. Every winter students can improve their skiiing, especially downhill skiing abilities in a week course in beautiful Slovak mountains.

Andrej Mráz Hi, my name is Andrej Mráz. I am 18 years old . I am studying mechanical engeneering. For few years I been interested in many various activities. Few sports I am playing are Football, badminton, 8-ball. From non-sport it is for sure a film editing and car design.

Robo Bočák Hi my name is Robo Bočák. Im 18 years old. I live in Dubnica nad Váhom. I study at the Secondary Technical School as a Mechanical engeneer in Dubnica nad Váhom. My favourite activities are: Working with PC, modeling with Programmes like Solid edge, AutoCAD, animals.

Martin Beláň Hello, my name is Martin Beláň, but everybody called me Beco – it´s my nickname. I´m 16 years old. I study on Secondary Technical School in Dubnica nad Váhom. I live in Horné Srnie, it´s a village 10km near Dubnica nad Váhom. I have three older sistres. They are married and have own children , either. My hobbies are touristm, florball, hockeyball, volleyball, fun and time with the best friends and work around house. I like every kinds of music.
