PROMPT for “Tragic Hero” In-Class Essay A tragic hero is a literary figure with four distinctive features: He is usually of high social rank, has a significant tragic character flaw, suffers complete ruin or death, and faces his downfall with courage and dignity. In a five- paragraph Literary Analysis, discuss how Macbeth is considered a tragic hero by analyzing and reflecting on his decisions and actions throughout the play. In the Introduction, explain Macbeth’s rise in power as you provide background about the play and information about Macbeth’s high social rankings.
