Filters: Takes data from a single column in a single Table, Pivot Table, or Pivot Chart. Limits the data within the dataset Offers Text, Date, and other natural filters on any column.

Slicers: Takes data from a single column in a Multiple Tables, Pivot Tables, or Pivot Charts and allows you to filer. Limits the data within the dataset Offers the ability to filter by selecting from a menu.

Timelines: Similar to a slicers functionality. Must be based on a date format column. Offers the ability to filter by selecting from a range of date values.

Parameters: Designated filter requiring user input before data is returned. Limits the data within the dataset before running the query. User defined by the data connection.
