Today’s Objectives: Understand why administrators should flip their faculty meetings Access and log into Google Classroom Set up your own Google Classroom for your faculty Navigate Google Classroom as an administrator and view it as a faculty member Create a discussion, assignment, or announcement for your faculty Brainstorm ways you can use Google Classroom to flip your faculty meetings

Getting to Google Classroom... Option 1: Navigate to the website. Option 2: Install from the Chrome Web Store. Option 3: Select it from your google tiles.

Logging In... Select your role in Classroom & click Submit.

Creating Your First Class... Step One: Click the + and Choose Create Class. Step Two: Name Your Class.

Take a Tour!

Adding Your Faculty... Option 1: Give them the class code and have them sign up on their own. Option 2: Email invites to your faculty.

Let Your Personality Show! Setting Up Your Classroom... Let Your Personality Show!

Setting Up Your Classroom... Click “Select Theme” to Choose Your Background.

Filling In Class Information... Click “About” to edit Class Info.

Creating an Announcement... Step 1: Click the + on the bottom right and choose “announcement.” Step 2: Type your announcement. You can choose to attach different things. Then, you can post it or save it as a draft. Your posts will appear in the “Stream” section.

Creating an Assignment Step 1: Click on the +. Select “Assignment.” Step 2: Fill in your assignment criteria. You can post it immediately or save it as a draft. Select a due date and even a time! This is a private assignment. Attach anything! Assign to the classes of your choice.

Starting a Discussion... Follow the same steps as before but this time select “question.” The discussion will allow your faculty to post their response and then see other responses. They can even reply to their co-workers.. You can decide whether faculty members can edit their posts and whether or not they can view each other’s posts.

Accessing Submissions... Option 1: Click on the title of the assigned work. Option 2: Click on the number above “Done.” Option 3: Access them through your navigation tool in the top left hand corner. This view allows you to quickly see who has finished and who has not. You can also see what they have completed so far.
